Every year we celebrate National Engineers Day on September 15 in India. As it is the birth anniversary of legendary engineer and statesman Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya who was born on September 15, 1861.
His contribution in the field of engineering and technology is commendable for all of us. He is and will always be the inspiration for the youth who believe in innovation and creation.
Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was not only a legendary engineer but also a statesman who contributed to building a modern India with technological advancement in the 20th century. His contribution in various technological implementations to control disasters and also enhancement in agricultural development in the region.
He also served as Diwan of the princely state of Mysore during the period 1912 to 1918 in which he did several reforms and worked upon infrastructure projects that transformed Mysore into one of the most advanced and fast paced states in technology.
